February is
finally here. So, the partying can begin. It appears like we have
waited for ages for January to end so Kampalans can start happening
Monday to Monday.
It is only in Uganda where one gets a
major proggie for a Sunday afternoon/evening like the one happening this
Sunday at Atmosphere Lounge along Windsor crescent in Kololo.
The refurbished hangout, in partnership
with the Singleton of Dufftown, presents the Rwanda Connect night. The
event will starts at 8pm. It will be attended by various Rwandan
artistes including duo Charly na Nina, DJ Pius and DJ Spinny, who will
be the host.
Uganda’s Jose Chameleone, Radio &
Weasel and Geo Steady will also be in attendance. There will also be
live music presentations from the TUK band. Kampala has a big community
of Rwandans.
Last year saw awesome music
collaborations between the two countries giving birth to songs like
Agatako (DJ Pius and Chameleone) and Body
by Uganda’s Rabadaba and Rwanda’s silky-voiced Jody.

The event is also meant for Atmosphere Lounge to position itself as the go-to hangout to savor a glass of whisky at.
“The Singleton crafts immediately
pleasurable whisky experiences. The Rwandan Connect definitely provides a
great ground for creating a new breed of whisky enthusiasts in Uganda,”
said Annette Nakiyaga, UBL’s reserve/ luxury brands manager, while
announcing the partnership.
